I tried it again, except this time with my trusty Olympus® camera. This time I got all the exposures back and everything went smoothly. I tried to recall from memory what I had taken before and got it right, mostly. Some of the "new" shots were similar to those which were simply destroyed by the machine last time. Because the strip-mall construction has progressed since Brentwood Backdoor (I), there are some obvious differences, such as the first image where missing cinderblocks have left a curiously shaped pile, as though a sort of hand signal to the unwanted trespasser.
